Mikhail is currently creating his 1st fully independent Album A Good Soul at his home studio Laxton Creative House.

“A Good Soul” is the newest chapter of Mikhail’s journey. After 8 years on a Record Label Mikhail decided to walked away from the music industry machine and ran back to the love, the soul and that magic of using music to build community and make genuine connections. The first steps were invite his growing community to partner with him in the creation of “A Good Soul”. “Without You” is a soulful ballad about losing the version of yourself that you had become with someone else.

2026 also marks Mikhail’s 10th year in Canada since immigrating from his homeland of Australia. In 10 years Mikhail has become well-respected recording artist and live performer with showings at Ottawa Bluesfest, CityFolk, The Horseshoe Tavern and sharing stages with Kathleen Edwards, Julian Taylor, Colin Linden and The Teskey Brothers.

With honest, funny, and tender storytelling about faith, love, loss and hope. He brings heavy pocket-groove layered with his inviting, soulful, yet ear-bending vocal power. Laxton treats every stage like a living room. Fans often leave feeling completely part of his community and he a part of theirs.
