From the oldest living rainforest in the world to the biting winter snows.

Since leaving his home of Australia for Canada a decade ago Mikhail Laxton has opened for incredible artists like Colin Linden, Kathleen Edwards and The Teskey Brothers to name a few.

Laxton's “Roots & Soul” Music is no non-sense, with super tight in-the-pocket funky grooves. Lyrics that tell the story exactly how it is, with incredibly infectious hooks sung by vocals somewhere in the vein of Bill Withers & Amos Lee with moments of power akin to Otis Redding and Chris Stapleton.

Independence & New Album:
After several years signed to a label, Laxton has sought a simplified, more creative and an honest “mostly do it yourself” take to his career.

happily working on his 2nd full length (10 song) Album “Good Soul” the project is being both self & community funded. (Pre-order style Crowd-funding Campaign).

In the spirit of creative integrity, ownership and artist solidarity, Laxton is also taking a “community-first” approach with his music by moving to a “direct to consumer” business model.

“Direct connection with my audience/community is the most important thing to me. Since I've started the pre-order campaign for this album I have had at least 1 sincere interaction with every single person that believes in what i'm doing enough to invest in me. Whether it's at a show or they've pre-ordered the album from the other side of the world. That person to person connection is everything to me".

Laxton's music from here on out will no longer be available on streaming platforms.

There's only one place to find it and that is at mikhaillaxton.com
